Spain Part I | Raleigh Fine Art & Travel Photographer

I recently went to Spain to visit my sister, who's been living in Madrid. I had an amazing time! I took a lot of pictures while there and have been having a very hard time narrowing them down--there are just so many cool things in Spain! I think I'll need to split them into around 3 blog posts. Here are some from the first day and a half in Barcelona. By the way, please forgive me for not having the appropriate accents in some of the words below.

I landed in Madrid, which has an awesome airport.

Inside, there were amazingly tall ceilings.

Every weekend, they have a band and dancing outside the cathedral in the large square.

Palau de Musica, where we saw a performance of Bach and Handel. Gorgeous. 'Nuff said.

Casa Battlo. Gaudi's work is just unreal. Look at the inside of the house two photos down. That was taken from the first floor, looking up.

My sister, Joanna. We found lots of cool graffiti in Barcelona. You'll see more below.

I can't imagine living in a city where this is a normal place to bring your skateboard. So cool.

Love the contrast of the old and new in this one.

Sometimes you just have to do stuff like this, right?

This wall was so cool. Even people who don't like graffiti can surely appreciate the artistic talents of someone who can do this kind of work.

More to come!!

Vickie and Ava Grace | Raleigh Baby Photographer

It was a perfect evening at the Raleigh Rose Garden and Ava Grace was on her best behavior, even though we were approaching her bedtime. It was fun seeing her enjoying the atmosphere and looking at the running water of the fountain. Such a sweet baby--and very much loved, as you'll see here. Vickie, I'll have your gallery for you soon!

Driveway Films Series : ) | Raleigh Photographer

Jacob and I have been talking about showing movies in our driveway or yard for years and we finally had a chance to do it tonight! After getting the projector we'd been hunting, we invited the neighbors over for a showing of Night at the Museum. It was a blast!

The hardest part was actually choosing the movie. A few of us collaborated to figure out what we have and what we should watch. We've determined that amongst all of us in the neighborhood, we must have enough movies to start our own rental company. I hadn't seen Night at the Museum and really enjoyed it.

We used our Honda Element (all doors open) as the sound system, which actually worked really well, and a classroom-sized white board as the screen. Next time we may use a huge sheet so we can blow the movie up big enough to cover the entire garage door! Can't wait for the next one : )

And I'm a bit behind in blog posts. I need to post several soon, including my recent trip to Spain. I'm leaving for Florida tomorrow, though, so I'll catch up next week!

Happy and safe Memorial Day, everyone!

Dawn's Bridal Session | Raleigh Wedding Photographer

Dawn's fiance (now husband!) works at the fire department at the airport, so she thought it would be a nice surprise for him if she did a bridal session there. We snuck on over and everyone at the station was so good about keeping it a secret! I loved that the planes were flying by during our session. I'm sure there's a metaphor in there somewhere : )

Congratulations, Dawn!
