Matilda Jane Part Five | Raleigh Children's Photographer

Here is my sweet girl wearing Matilda Jane. Talah loved running around with her friends at the location for the mini session, eating sugar cookies, playing with the tea set, etc. And she was THRILLED to have her nails painted. Tory painted them and Talah talked about it every day for the next week, even after the polish had come off. I can remember being similarly excited about nail polish when I was a child. There's something magical about it to kids (adults, too, I suppose!).

Mini Session Tiernan | Raleigh Children's Photographer

The day of the mini sessions was also Tiernan's first birthday! She was so happy and excited to have her balloon and some yummy blueberry pound cake. The wagon in the pictures was her dad's when he was a child and the book, Tawny Scrawny Lion, is probably my favorite of the Little Golden Books. Happy Birthday, Tiernan!

This is sweet Alex. She's such a great mix of girly-girl and daredevil. She can pull off a dress and is as sweet as can be, but she also loves to swing from trees and climb down to the creek. Her family is moving soon and we'll be really sorry to see them go (I'll miss you, Kristin!)!

Mini Session Part Two | Raleigh Children's Photographer

You might have noticed that this blog post has a different title than the other mini sessions from this set. That's because it isn't technically a Matilda Jane session. These dresses were actually handmade by my friend Tory! Her daughters, Bella and Cassidy, got to show them off at their mini session. This is my same friend Tory who makes lampshades and does interior design. Yes, some people really can do it all! The lampshade in the last photo is one of hers, too : ) You can order lampshades on her Etsy site.

A couple of weeks ago, I held the Matilda Jane mini sessions for those who came to my trunk show. It was a HOT day, but such a perfect location and such great clothes (of course). I have lots more to post with the other cute little girlies, but I thought I'd go ahead and get started with Macy, who was first that day : )

These were taken at a location that was special for this family. This property has been a constant since they've lived in Cary and they have always enjoyed seeing it when they drive by. In a town where the landscape is changing quickly, this house and barn has remained. The owners were kind enough to let us use it for the session..and so we did, bringing games and wings along.
