Sarah + Billy | Raleigh Engagement Photographer

This session is a few months old (they're married now!), but I still wanted to share. Sarah and Billy met at the seminary in Wake Forest and quickly fell in love. They were making each other laugh the entire session. Now they're married and can make each other laugh all the time : )

Lynne and Alston | Raleigh Family Photographer

I was driving to Wilson and was just about to get off the exit when I heard it. It was a sound I'd only heard in movies, but I knew it wasn't good. I started to slow down to hear it better and then heard a loud POP! I'd gotten my first flat tire. Here I was, about to do a photo session and I was stranded on the side of the road. Things weren't looking good for the session at that point. Thankfully, Lynne came to my rescue and picked me up so that we could do our session in downtown Wilson. What lifesavers!

Thank you for saving the day and for such a fun session!!

PS: Jacob drove out to meet me afterwards and changed the tire for me. After having watched him, I feel like I could do it if it happened again...but I wouldn't welcome the opportunity : )

Holiday Mini Sessions 2010 | Raleigh Family Photographer

It's hard to believe how fast this year has been going by. Believe it or not, it is time to start booking your holiday mini session! Contact me right away to secure your place!

But first...
Is a mini session right for you? Mini sessions are best for those who have already had a full session recently and are simply wanting some updated photos for holiday cards and gifts (and for your own home, of course!). Because of the shorter session, wardrobe changes are not possible during a mini session. Those wanting a full session (approximately 1 1/2 hours) at a location of your choosing should contact me to book a full session.

This year I'm planning two mini session dates because of demand and I will use a different location for each.

Here's the scoop on the minis:

Holiday Mini Sessions

#1

Times: 9am-12pm (sessions are scheduled on the hour and half hour)
Location: Urban Downtown Raleigh (more specific information will be given to those who book sessions)

#2
Date: Saturday, October 16th 2010 (rain date October 17, 2010)
Times: 1-5:30pm (sessions are scheduled on the hour and half hour)
Location: Outdoor/"Field-ish" location in Raleigh (more specific information will be given to those who book sessions)

Details:
-Length of Mini Session: Approximately 20 minutes
-Your viewing gallery will include 10 fully edited, handcrafted images from which to choose (please note that digital files are not included in the session pricing)
-50 flat press-printed 5x7 holiday cards (with your choice of photo(s) and wording) and envelopes (you can upgrade to folded cards, square cards, or ROUND ornament cards for an additional fee)
-$100 print credit for use on other products, including prints, gallery-wrapped canvas, additional cards (in increments of 25 only) and more
-1 surprise gift : )

$275 + NC sales tax, due at the time of booking

I'll post some card samples very soon. I. Can't. Tell. You. how excited I am about the round ornament cards I'll be offering this year!

Cole | Raleigh Children's Photographer

This is Rob Lowe as a child. Oh, wait--nevermind, this is COLE! Cole was so sweet and so polite (such good manners!). He's working on a modeling portfolio and I think he'll do really well. I really enjoyed doing this session. And Mom and Dad were so nice, too. They didn't even make too much fun of me when I almost fell over (twice). What can I say--sometimes I'm just thinking about the shot I want to get and I forget to look behind me! Anyway, please enjoy!

Collinson Family | Raleigh Family Photographer

I was really afraid that the skies would open on us for this session. First it was a 30% chance of rain, and then it changed to 70% the day before. Then somehow it went back down to 10% that morning but the rain was due to hit us right during the session. Thankfully, though it was quite cloudy, it didn't rain.

This family was a lot of fun. And who agrees with me that the older son, Trevor, looks a bit like a younger version of Liam Neeson's son in Love Actually?

I loved how they were both gently playing with each other's sleeves.

McCartney Family Mini Session | Raleigh Family Photographer

This is the last post from the holiday mini sessions. You may have seen the McCartney family in this post. They are wonderful friends! Tory will be at The Handmade Market in Raleigh on November 7th, so be sure to go by her table and purchase some of her gorgeous custom lampshades! She also does interior decorating and sewing and she knows her stuff. I'll be doing a post soon that shows some of the things she's done in my home : )
